橘 智哉 Tomoya Tachibana
1999年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科鍛金専攻修了。スタジオ タチバナ開設。国内外のコミッションワークを中心に、その場に合った素材・技術を組み合わせて人の感情を動かす空間を意識して制作している。
Graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School in 1999, he creates emotional spaces by combining materials and techniques suited to the situation, focusing on commissioned works.

ラグジュアリーな空間において神獣を表現するにあたり、心地よい空間に出来るように形状は出来るだけシンプルに、神獣の要素を削ぎ落した後に残った雰囲気のようなものを表現することを目的としました。
そのため、素材は客室においても塗装などをせず金属そのものの表情を活かせるステンレスを選択し、その切れのある形と光を演出するため、たたき・ねじり・曲げ等の鍛金技法を使い、ステンレスの応力を利用して素材と対話することで形を生みだしています。
お客様の時間を、派手な色は使わずとも彩る装置のようなものになればとの思いで制作しました。
In representing the divine beast, I strove to create a pleasant space by keeping the shape as simple as possible and stripping away the divine elements. For this reason, I chose stainless steel as the material, since it allows the natural texture of the metal to shine through without the need for painting or other finishes. To highlight the sharp lines and to play with the light, I used the inherent properties of stainless steel and the metalworking techniques of hammering, twisting, and bending to create the forms.
