村本 真吾 Shingo Muramoto
1970年石川県生まれ。1997年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科工芸専攻漆芸修了。2002年金沢卯辰山工芸工房修了。現在、金沢市内にて創作活動を行う。寧波大学科学技術学院漆芸工作室主任。2002年 国際漆展・石川 審査員特別賞。主な収蔵先は、フィラデルフィア美術館、ヴィクトリア・アンド・アルバート博物館等。
Born in Ishikawa in 1970, he graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School in 1997 and currently works in Kanazawa. As the director of the Lacquerware Workshop at the Ningbo College of Science and Technology, his works are on exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum, among others.

平和な時代に姿を現すとされる伝説の霊獣（麟・鳳・亀・龍）をテーマに、私は天を舞う霊獣のような優雅さと煌びやかさを漆の表現に重ねます。
漆は、時間をかけて幾層にも塗り重ね、磨き、少しずつ美しさを現し、そして光を纏う漆の質感は非常に生命的だと感じています。
作品は、最高の癒しの空間でリラックスしたひとときを過ごしていただくために、風や光といった自然のエレメントを感じさせる「ゆらぎ」や「彩り」を大切にしています。
自然素材が持つ独特な質感や気配を活かし、そのかたちに触発されながら自らの手でかたちを生み出すそのプロセスの中で、人と自然の共存・共生の在り方を問い直し、融和を探っています。
Taking as the overall theme the four legendary holy beasts (qilin, phoenix, tortoise, and dragon) said to appear in times of peace, I seek to express the elegance and splendor of their heavenly dances through the medium of lacquer.
Lacquer possesses a texture that feels deeply alive as it embraces the light.
This work emphasizes fluttering and colorfulness to evoke the natural elements of wind and light.
By using the unique textures and presence of natural materials and inspired by their forms to create my own shapes by hand, I re-examine the coexistence of humans and nature in search of harmony.

漆は、時間をかけて幾層にも塗り重ね、磨き、少しずつ美しさを現します。そして光を纏う漆の質感は、非常に生命的だと感じています。
With the theme of the legendary dragon, which is said to appear in peaceful times, the lacquerware expression depicts the elegance and splendor of the mythical beast dancing in the air.
Lacquer develops beauty gradually as you apply layers of polish. To me, the texture of lacquer under light is full of life.

This work was produced with the theme of a legendary beast – the phoenix – which is said to appear in peaceful times. Silver foil in blue and black was applied to express its elegance and splendor.
