奥野 美果 Mica Okuno
1987年多摩美術大学卒業。デザイナーを経て、1991～1994年オランダに留学。帰国後から個展や公共施設設置を中心に作品を制作発表。2017年より東京・恵比寿でオープンスペースを併設したアトリエ「DEN＋」を主宰。各地で個展を開催している。2007年「国際ガラス展金沢2007」審査員賞受賞。
After graduating from Tama Art University in 1987, she studied in the Netherlands from 1991 to 1994. Back in Japan, she has presented her works mainly through solo exhibitions and installations in public facilities. In 2007, she won the Jury Prize at the International Exhibition of Glass Kanazawa.

光はモノとして目にはっきりと映ることは少ない
また 透明なガラスははっきりとは見にくい
ガラスは 空気のような 水のような 存在でもある
そんな透明なガラスがそこに在ると 光を反射し 遮り
また溜め込み 更に拡散し透過する
この作品は 光があって成り立つ
ガラスに向かった光は反射し 陰を作る
ガラスの中を通った光は屈折しながら影を超えて
そのずーっと先へのびる
人の手を借りて生まれたガラス
鋳型の中でガラスのカケラ同士が熔けてくっつき合う
トロリと熔けたガラスは だいだい色に発光する
そのガラスはゆっくりと冷め また透明になり
そこに差し込んでくる光を なぞりながら受け留める
そして更に 視覚の世界を拡げる
Light is rarely seen clearly by the eye.
Transparent glass, too, is hard to see.
Glass is like air and like water.
Transparent glass reflects, blocks, accumulates, and then diffuses and transmits light.
This work exists because of light.
Light striking the glass is reflected and casts a shadow.
Light passing through the glass is refracted to continue far beyond the shadow.
Glass is created by human hands.
Glass fragments melt and fuse together within a mold, glowing a deep orange.
As glass cools, it becomes transparent again and captures the light that enters it to further expand our visual world.
