苗彤 Miao Tong
1968年中国・西安生まれ。1989年西安美術学院卒業。2003年京都市立芸術大学大学院美術研究科絵画専攻（日本画）修了。現在は上海を拠点に精力的に活動。上海大学上海美術学院・准教授。専門は岩彩画。2002年創画展（東京・京都）、2017年シルクロード国際美術招待展・優秀賞（西安）、2021年上海美術大展（上海）他出展多数。
Born in Xi’an, China, he is now based in Shanghai where he is an associate professor at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts. Specialized in painting with mineral pigments, he has received numerous awards, including the Excellence Award at Xi’an’s 2017 Silk Road International Art Invitational Exhibition.

中国には古くから自然を崇め、尊重し、親しむ伝統があります。リアルな自然は、体感し、感知し、楽しむためのものです。
自然への憧れと愛着は、山水を自分のそばに凝縮し、朝夕を伴いたいという願望を人々に促し、こうして庭園ができました。自然の山や川は人の好みによって変化しませんが、造園は人に自分の意思を思いっきり発散させる空間を提供します。庭園は天人合一の具体的な再現です。真実の山水ではないけれど、山水として現実に存在しています。
庭園が私に見せてくれたのは、時空を超えて迷い込んだような幻像の世界です。
China’s ancient tradition of revering, respecting, and enjoying nature inspired people to incorporate mountains and rivers into their surroundings, which led to the creation of gardens. While natural mountains and rivers do not conform to the whims of human, landscaping provides us with a space to fully exercise our will. Gardens are a manifestation of the unity of heaven and humans. Though not in actuality true mountains and rivers, they exist as such in the reality of humans as a fantasy world beyond time and space.
