外山 寛子 Hiroko Toyama
1984年宮崎県生まれ。2010年京都造形芸術大学（現 京都芸術大学）日本画コース卒業。卒業制作にて学長賞・千住賞を受賞。2011年「日本芸術センター絵画公募展」大賞受賞。2023年金屏風春夏秋冬制作（株式会社SGC）。2023年「松陰芸術賞」受賞。他、個展グループ展多数。
Born in Miyazaki in 1984, she graduated from Kyoto University of the Arts in 2010. She received the Grand Prize at the Japan Art Center Painting Competition in 2011 and the Shoin Art Award in 2023 and has held numerous solo and group exhibitions.

屏風絵や絵巻物に、古来、使われてきた金雲。
私は、時の流れや、縁起物として意味する金雲を使いながら、生き物や植物の命を華やかに彩った作品を目指しています。《祝福の旅路》では、鳳凰や霊亀とともに渡り鳥であるツバメたちと名古屋城のお堀の水辺の風景を描きました。海を越えて春にやってくるツバメ達が、満開の藤の花や、水芭蕉、菖蒲、そして夏になると蓮の花を喜び、青柳に舞い、秋を感じる蔦とともに旅立つ……。
ツバメたちは、この場所でつがいになって家族を作り、子育てして、そしてまた海を渡るのです。春夏秋冬巡り巡るツバメたちの長い旅路が、私たち人の人生の普遍的な物語のように思えるのです。鳳凰と霊亀が、命が紡ぐ物語を祝福し、これからの門出が幸福であるよう、祈るような存在の象徴としてあたたかく見守っています。
Gold-colored clouds have been used for folding screens and picture scrolls since ancient times. I, too, wanted to portray the lives of animals and plants using gold clouds, a symbol of good fortune.
This work, depicting the scenery around the moat of Nagoya Castle, features swallows alongside phoenixes and sacred turtles. Swallows, arriving in spring from across the sea, rejoice in the full-blooming wisteria flowers, dance among the green willows in summer, and depart with the arrival of ivy, the harbinger of autumn.
Here the swallows mate, raise their young, and then fly back across the sea. The swallows' long journey through the four seasons feels to me like a universal metaphor for human life.
